2017 Fall Photo Contest: “Water, Everywhere”

October 6, 2017

Announcing the 3rd annual Hilltown Land Trust Fall Photo Contest! Since water is crucial to the existence of life on this planet, our theme this year is “Water, Everywhere.” We are eager to see your images, the subject of which must be water (in any form!: rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, rain, mist, ice, snow, etc.). Photo submissions must be taken in a natural setting in a rural Massachusetts town west of the Connecticut River.

This year we will have two separate categories: Youth (18 years of age and under) and Adult (19+). Each category will have one winner and one runner up, and the four winning photographs will be printed, professionally framed, and displayed at the Bullitt Reservation (Ashfield) during the winter and spring months. All eligible entries will be printed and displayed at the Bullitt Reservation as well. Participants will get to take their photographs home at the end of the season.

We are delighted to share that the R. Michelson Galleries will be donating professional framing of the four winning photographs again this year! Many thanks to them for their generosity!

All participants will be celebrated during an opening reception of the Fall Photo Contest exhibit in mid November.

Please email files of at least 240 dpi/ppi in JPEG or PNG form to hltoutreach <at> thetrustees <dot> org by 11:59pm EST on October 25, 2017. Each person can submit up to two photos. Please submit the following information in your email with your digital photo:

  • Full name and email address of photographer
  • Town of photographer’s residence
  • Age of photographer
  • Detailed caption of subject matter
  • Location where photograph was taken

If you choose to include people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary releases from the individuals depicted, and must be able to provide copies of those releases to Hilltown Land Trust upon request.
