HLT logo
HLT’s new logo!

Hilltown Land Trust has long been committed to our scenic vistas, unique spaces, and critical habitat, and interest, demand, and support for conservation in the Hilltowns is greater than ever. Interest in the services that we provide—land conservation, land stewardship, and public events—has been increasing dramatically. Attendance at our public events grows each season, and this fall twice the typical number of landowners have approached HLT about conserving their land.

We have spent time reflecting on what we need to meet this growing demand. Over the past few years, we have brought on new Board members Andrew Madden (Worthington), Pat Morey (Goshen), and Paul Wetzel (Williamsburg), grown our staff to include Development & Communications member Katie Carr, and increased the number of TerraCorps service members we host each year.

Hilltown Land Trust also recently received a grant from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts to enhance our work and broaden our reach. Thanks to this support, we worked with a local graphic designer to create a new logo that reflects our mission and values.

To guide this project, we surveyed people close to the organization to understand how HLT is perceived by a wide audience and convened a focus group. This helped guide the process of creating a new look, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results!

The new HLT logo shows a scene familiar to anyone who lives in or has visited the Hilltowns: a spectacular view framed by a variety of tree species. The mother bear and her cub in the center of the logo symbolize the core of our mission: to conserve land for current and future generations, land which often includes important habitat for wildlife.

We hope that you enjoy our new logo as much as we do! Be sure to subscribe to our mailing list and follow us on social media (see links at top of page) for all the latest news and events from Hilltown Land Trust.
