About TerraCorps

TerraCorps is a nonprofit organization working at the intersection of land conservation, sustainable farming, and local food systems to build local nonprofit capacity while growing the next generation of emerging leaders committed to making a difference at the community level. We value the power of local nonprofits to best understand and serve their communities, and our goal is to help them succeed by providing them access to the AmeriCorps national service model to build organizational capacity.

TerraCorps partners with a network of 40+ nonprofits in Massachusetts and Rhode Island focused on community needs related to local land conservation and sustainable agriculture. These partners act as service sites for a new cohort of up to 52 AmeriCorps service members annually. Service members are paired with a site supervisor who provides guidance and mentorship while they learn to manage community programs and projects over a 1,700-hour service term. The 2025-26 service year runs September 22, 2025, to July 31, 2026.

About the Land Stewardship Coordinator Position

Hilltown Land Trust is interviewing candidates for a Land Stewardship Coordinator (LSC). The LSC will engage with the Conservation & Stewardship Manager to manage volunteers on community service projects, educate or train individuals in environmental stewardship or environmentally conscious
practices, and complete three capacity building projects.

Potential projects include:

  • Stewardship Volunteer Property Monitoring Program: The LSC will lead this effort and create
the connection/consistency between HLT staff, our landowners, our volunteer network, and to
    the land itself.
  • Data Collection Training Program: The LSC will assist in training HLT Stewardship Committee
members and volunteers on how to properly use data collection software/applications and how
to take meaningful data during land monitoring visits.
  • Volunteer Service Days: The LSC recruits, manages, and organizes volunteers to help with many
of our stewardship activities through volunteer service days that included activities such as trail
building, trail maintenance/blazing and kiosk building.

Applications for this position must be submitted via the TerraCorps online application. Click here for more details about the position, or visit the TerraCorps website to apply to serve.
