GPS Basics for Land Conservation

Where: Williamsburg Meekins Library & Petticoat Hill Reservation
When: Sunday, April 12th, 9:30am*-12:30pm 
Free & Open to the Public
*Arrive early for coffee, refreshments, and mingling, 9 -9:30 am

Learn how to effectively monitor the protected lands you love. We will discuss land protection tools, go over the basics of conducting a site visit, and get some practice in the field. It will include a summary of your expectations and duties as a property monitor, why and what we monitor, how to fill out a monitoring form, lessons in navigation using maps, compass, and GPS, and some practice in the field. Participants are encouraged to monitor at least one Hilltown Land Trust property in the spring season.
