Join us for a spring ephemeral walk & talk! Led by former Hilltown Land Trust MassLIFT-AmeriCorps service member Nicole Rhodes, we will check out the wildflowers on a protected property in Chester. The short, but moderately difficult hike will lead us up a mountain, where we will explore the wildflowers blooming there in mid-May. Pack your lunch and enjoy a picnic with a view from the top of Round Top Hill, the highest point in Hampden County! We will walk through an amazing shagbark hickory forest with an understory of grasses and ferns. Bring your wildflower guides if you have them, and, of course, your cameras.

Nicole Rhodes served as MassLIFT-AmeriCorps Land Stewardship Coordinator at Hilltown Land Trust during the 2014-2015 service year. Since then, she has worked as a field biologist and educator, and has a background in environmental science, research, and land conservation, and specializes in New England flora. Nicole works as a classroom aide at Westhampton Elementary.
