October 29, 2024

Date/Time
Date(s) - Oct 29th, 2024
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Location
Unquomonk Town Water Land

"What's in a Forest Assessment?" event square, with the text "Meet a Forester Woods Walk Session 1, on Unquomonk Road across from Big View Trailhead, Williamsburg MA, Tuesday October 29th at 2 pm." Below are the logos for Hilltown Land Trust, the town of Williamsburg, and Bay State Forestry, followed up the text "Resilient Upper Mill Watershed." The event graphic features blue and teal colors evoking the Mill River.Join us on a walk at Williamsburg Town Water Department land with Licensed Forester Ry Patton (Bay State Forestry) and Hilltown Land Trust land stewardship staff to look at the dynamics of the forest and think about ways to increase its resilience in the face of climate change and bigger storms. We’ll talk about what goes into an initial assessment of forest land, and why you might want to talk to a licensed forester yourself.

This is the first in a series of educational land walks. Stay tuned for an announcement about the next public land walk coming soon!

This series is part of the Resilient Upper Mill River Watershed Project in Williamsburg funded through the Commonwealth’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program.

COST: Free to the public
AGES: Adult
RSVP: Optional
