Jess Applin

Land Conservation and Stewardship Manager

She/her

Jess, who is wearing a gray zipped sweater and has red hair, is seen from the shoulders up smiling into the camera. Behind her are blurred sunlit branches.

Jess helps manage Hilltown Land Trust’s land conservation and stewardship efforts. She is passionate about wildlife conservation, landscape level habitat connectivity, and helping people re-connect with the natural world. Before joining HLT, Jess was immersed in the field of Ecological Restoration, assessing and understanding the needs of the land in an effort to lead thoughtful land stewardship and create healthier landscapes. She has a BS in Biology (Westfield State University) and an MS in Conservation Biology (Antioch University New England).  She has also taught Principles of Environmental Science as an adjunct professor at Westfield State University, leads wildlife tracking workshops, and runs wildlife camera trainings.  Jess is a certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP) with the Society of Ecological Restoration and is a level II certified CyberTracker.
