Stewardship Specialist

Mariel helps organize land stewardship efforts for HLT, including trail maintenance, land management, and conservation area monitoring. Her role is split between HLT and our affiliate, The Trustees, where she works as a Conservation Restriction Stewardship Specialist. She finds great satisfaction in helping care for the lands of the Hilltowns, together with the passionate local community.
Before joining as our Stewardship Specialist, she served as HLT’s TerraCorps Land Stewardship Coordinator for two years. She graduated from Wesleyan University in 2018 with a degree in Environmental Science and Studies and spent the following years working in the world of food, farming, and gardening everywhere from Western Massachusetts to Los Angeles and the California Bay Area. She now lives back in Northampton.
