Bradley Trail Work Day

April 19, 2026

Date/Time
Date(s) - Apr 19th, 2026
9:00 am - 12:00 pm

A photo of a green sunlit forest with a trail winding through it.Come enjoy the beautiful Bradley woods and help us make our trails more sustainable and easier to use! At this workday we will be continuing work done in the fall to reroute the trail along Nichols Brook on to the ridge above the brook. Tasks will include bench cutting (i.e. flattening out the path with shovels and hoes), raking, trimming branches, hauling brush, and painting blazes along the trail. Dress in sturdy shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. All experience levels are welcome! Work gloves and tools will be provided, but if you have your own, feel free to bring them along.

COST: Free
AGES: Adult and teen
DOGS: Please leave non-service dogs at home.
RSVP: Not required but appreciated

Accessibility

All experience levels are welcome for this workday, however it should be noted that the work could be strenuous at times and may involve bending, lifting, cutting branches with hand tools, and working in proximity to a gas-powered chainsaw.

  • Bathroom: There is no bathroom at this site
  • Distance Traveled: Expect to walk 1-1.5 miles throughout the morning.
  • Fragrances: To be respectful of those with allergies and environmental sensitivities, we ask that you please refrain from wearing strong fragrances.
  • Parking: Two parking spots are available in a small parking lot just south of the trailhead. Additional cars can park along the road in front of and north of the trailhead. We encourage you to carpool with friends and family members if you are able.
  • Public transportation: Public transit is not available to the Bradley Sanctuary. Contact us if you are interested in coordinating a carpool.
  • Seating: No seating will be provided.
  • Surfaces: Compacted dirt parking lot, leaf-covered woods trail, potential for mud.

We’re happy to discuss your access needs for this event! For questions and accommodation requests, please reach out to calla@hilltownlandtrust.org or call (413) 628-4485 ext 8.
