Composting for Your Lifstyle

April 16, 2014

Date/Time
Date(s) - Apr 16th, 2014
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Location
SHAEC at Gateway Regional High School

No yard to compost in? Living alone and only producing a small amount of food waste? Living with a group of hungry vegetarians who don’t know the first thing about compost? This workshop is for you! We will address various composting methods to allow the participants to discover a style of composting that fits into their lifestyle, including vermicomposting (worm bins!). We will delve into some basic soil science, discuss why compost is so beneficial for soil and crops, and explore the compost heap on the Gateway campus. Participants will leave the workshop prepared  to take action in their homes and start composting now!

This workshop is in partnership with the Southern Hilltowns Adult Education Center | www.shaec.org

For more information, directions, or to RSVP, please call Hannah, HLT’s Land Stewardship Coordinator at (413) 628-4485 x 4.
