How are our local farmers dealing with the challenges of climate change? Join Hilltown Land Trust at Sawyer Farm in Worthington to learn what this small organic farm is doing to minimize the use of fossil fuels, maximize carbon capture, and focus on soil health in order to continue to produce nutrient-rich food for the local community. The event will include a talk by the farmers with a Q&A, a visit to the farmstand, and a demonstration of the horses in action.

The terrain is hilly but smooth, and we will be walking less than a half mile overall. This event is suitable for adults and children, but unfortunately the terrain makes it unsuitable for people using wheelchairs.

Sawyer Farm is an organic, horse-powered, family farm in Worthington established in 2010 by Lincoln Fishman and Hilary Costa. Sawyer Farm grows produce and raises animals in a sustainable, eco-friendly manner. The farm store is open daily and year round selling produce, meat, cheese, honey, art, and other products from their and other local farms.

Advanced registration is required ahead of time using the form below. A sliding-scale suggested donation of $5-$20 is requested, which will be split between Sawyer Farm and Hilltown Land Trust. Your donation helps support keeping public events organized by Hilltown Land Trust free or low-cost for participants. Registration closes on Friday, September 17th.
