This event has a new date and time!

Hilltown Land Trust is managing a portion of its 300+ acre property, Stevens, with funds from Natural Resource Conservation Service. We are hosting a guided vigorous hike through this property with forester Lincoln Fish to learn more about the property, forestry and bird habitat. We will visit a location in the woods that will be managed in the fall to stimulate new tree and plant growth for bird habitat as part of the Department of Conservation and Recreation and Mass Audubon and the Massachusetts’ Woodland Institute partnership program Foresters for the Birds.

This hike is scheduled for 3 hours, we will be hiking for over 3 miles there and back. The difficulty level of this hike is medium to high. If you own walking poles, bring them! Please remember to wear sturdy hiking shoes and also bring water, bug repellent, and a snack.

FREE, donations gratefully accepted.

Parking and Directions to Pisgah Road:
At the highest point on Route 66, 0.4 mile west of the Westhampton-Huntington town line, turn north off Route 66 onto Allen Coit Road. Go 0.4 mile to the intersection with Pisgah Road and bear right onto Pisgah. Go 2.4 mile north from that intersection to HLT’s marked parking pullout and small clearing at break in stone wall on the right. Trail begins to the right of the kiosk.

Preregistration required by emailing HLTlandsteward@thetrustees.org or calling 413-628-4485 ext 4.
