Gorge après Gorge 5k Run/Walk 2024

December 1, 2024

Date/Time
Date(s) - Dec 1st, 2024
9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Location
Chesterfield Gorge

Two young people cross the Gorge apres Gorge finish line. One of them jumps up to high five the banner as people cheer and look on.

It’s that time of year again! Join us for this year’s Gorge après Gorge 5k Trail Run and Free Family Fun Walk on December 1st. This annual event is entering its 20th year, scheduled on the Sunday after Thanksgiving at the Chesterfield Gorge. This year, the walk starts at 9:30 AM and the 5k trail run starts at 10:30 AM.

An oval orange and blue logo of a bear riding a bike over a mountain with the text "Go West, Chesterfield General Store and Cafe, est. 1967."
Special thanks to the Chesterfield General Store & Cafe, who makes cookie medals and provides hot coffee for our runners and volunteers!

Runners and walkers use a well-marked course with a beautiful view of the Westfield River. Hot beverages and a potluck round off this event, which awards handmade hats to the winners (and maybe even some bonus categories this year!), and a locally baked cookie medal to all race participants.

People are encouraged to bring their own mugs, or to buy a reusable one at the event.

Trail Description

A well-marked course, the dirt road/trail is a slightly hilly and rocky out and back along the Wild and Scenic Westfield River, starting at the Chesterfield Gorge. Hot beverages and potluck goodies will be waiting at the finish line.

Location & Time

Chesterfield Gorge Reservation: River Road in Chesterfield, MA
9:30AM / Family Fun Walk / FREE
10:30AM / 5k Trail Run / $30 ($35 day of)

IMPORTANT: Please note that the times have changed, and the Family Fun Walk will start FIRST at 9:30 am this year, with the 5k starting an hour later at 10:30! We adjusted the times a few years ago to try to have everyone together to celebrate once the event ends – and it worked great.

Preregistration

5k Preregistration: $30 ($25 for members of Hilltown Land Trust or The Trustees) until 5 PM, Nov. 29th. Discounts for Families and FREE for runners under 10! $35 for the day of 5k. If you are a member of HLT or the Trustees and did not receive a coupon code, please contact us. Visit the Gorge après Gorge RunReg page to register.
