Hilltowns Hiking Series – A Mid-Holiday Hike at Bullitt Reservation

December 29, 2018

Date/Time
Date(s) - Dec 29th, 2018
10:30 am - 1:30 pm

Location
Bullitt Reservation

Please note change in date! Due to rain forecast for Friday, we have moved the hike to Saturday, December 29th.

Hilltown Land Trust has the perfect stress-releaser: a two-hour hike on the Two Bridges Trail. Here we will be removed from the commercialism of the season and find the opportunity to re-balance our lives as we hike among the trees and occasionally stop to listen to the water flow down the falls in Poland Brook. After exhilarating winter hike, participants will gather at the meeting room in the Bullitt Reservation Office Building to eat a brown bag lunch brought from home. HLT will offer warm beverages.

Hikers need to arrive at Bullitt Reservation by 10:30 AM to sign in. The ground is hard packed with granular snow and the temperature will be cold. Wear appropriate clothing. Two Bridges Trail is a moderate trail with varying elevations. The footing may be slippery in places and hikers will have to step over some wet areas. Boots with ice cleats are highly recommended as are hiking or ski poles.

This is free event. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Please RSVP so we can notify you if the event is postponed due to weather. The rain date will be Saturday, December 29th. To reserve a spot, contact Susan Schroder at HLToutreach@thetrustees.org or call 413-628-4485 x 4.

Please note: Bullitt Road is inaccessible from North Poland Road during the winter. Please turn onto Bullitt Rd from Rte. 116.
