Join us for the grand opening hike of newly conserved land in Chesterfield! Retired Siena College professor Doug Fraser donated this 130 acre parcel after decades of thoughtful stewardship of the land. The property features a network of trails showcasing diverse woodlands, wetlands, vernal pools, a beaver pond, and a meadow. Educational signage created by the former landowner make this a great place to learn about forest ecology and history.
Participants at the opening hike will have the opportunity to either slowly meander the woods and learn about red-backed salamanders or tour the trail network at a faster pace with HLT staff. Registration required; space is limited. Stay tuned for carpool information from the center of Chesterfield.
COST: $0-25 suggested.
AGES: Family friendly.
RSVP: Space is limited; required.
