Wetland Walk

June 10, 2018

Date/Time
Date(s) - Jun 10th, 2018
10:00 am - 11:30 am

Forested wetlands are ecologically unique and support high biodiversity.

Join us for a walk through a forested wetland, on a conserved property in Chester, MA. This property is located within a Kinnebrook wetland complex and is home to a variety of wildlife including beaver, otters, and Jefferson Salamanders. As we explore this unique and diverse habitat, we will enjoy a talk on why wetlands are important for forest health and how they are interconnected with the surrounding landscape.

Paul Wetzel, Environmental Research Coordinator of the Center for the Environment, Ecological Design, and Sustainability at Smith College will speak on the ecosystem connections and biology of forested wetlands.

The event will take place at 10am on June 10th, on a conserved private property in Chester.

Please RSVP by sending an email to hltlandsteward@thetrustees.org, registrants will receive details on the event location as the date approaches.”
