It’s the best of the Hilltowns’ autumn splendor: a family walk or 5k run along the stunning Chesterfield Gorge with handmade hat prizes, a potluck, and our all-are-welcome community spirit.
Since 2005, the Gorge après Gorge 5k Trail Run and Family Fun Walk has brought together families and individuals for outdoor recreation on the Sunday after Thanksgiving at the Chesterfield Gorge in Chesterfield.
The event was started by organizers Leslie Charles and Tanya Rapinchuk as a way to celebrate community, and get outside and appreciate nature with friends, family, and neighbors at a time of year when it’s tempting to stay inside. It began with just a few dozen people, and has grown over the years to include runners and walkers from as far away as Maryland.

We hope you can join us this year at the Chesterfield Gorge on Sunday, November 30th for the 5k trail run or family fun walk! Registration for both is open on RunReg until 5 pm on Friday, November 28th. Day-of registration will also be available. We hope to see you there!
