Hiking the Roberts Meadow Brook Trail

Lush leafy trees and mossy rocks frame a woodland stream full of small cascades.
Robert’s Meadow Brook. Photo by Lauren Katz.

The sound of a burbling stream accompanies your walk on the Robert’s Meadow Brook Trail. Tracing an old stagecoach road, this path offers a 2-mile out-and-back hike along the edge of a classic Hilltown stream valley.

Please stay on the trail. Public access is open from dawn until dusk. We recommend bringing a trail map, especially because this trail does not yet have a kiosk. (We’re working on it – stay tuned!)

This trail is on private property protected by a Conservation Restriction held by Hilltown Land Trust and the Westhampton Conservation Commission. Public access is allowed in the trail and stream corridor.

This trail and property was conserved with assistance from the MA Executive of Energy and Environmental Affairs Landscape Partnership Program, the Beveridge Family Foundation, the Amelia Peabody Fund, the Fields Pond Foundation and Hilltown Land Trust.

Parking and Directions

Navigate to the intersection of Shaw Road and Chesterfield Road in Westhampton. (This is also the intersection of NW Road and Chesterfield Road.)

Parking for the trail is on the Southeast corner of Chesterfield Road and NW Road. The trailhead is on the Northwest corner of Shaw Road and Chesterfield Road. Note that you will need to cross both Chesterfield Road and Shaw Road to get to the trailhead. The trail proceeds into the woods from a small grassy area on the roadside – note that the trailhead does not yet have a kiosk.
