Goodbye to Tessa & Allie!

July 30, 2020

Last week we said goodbye to Tessa and Allie, this year’s Hilltown Land Trust TerraCorps service members. Over the past 11 months, these two have contributed so much to our organization, from working with volunteers on taking care of conserved properties to leading hikes and events around our service area. We were so impressed with how smoothly they were able to transition to serving from home after our office shut down because of the pandemic (and in Allie’s case serving from out of state!).

While they did so much for the Hilltowns this year, we would like to mention a couple of highlights of their service. Tessa organized a series of public events for local people interested in conservation, the last of which had to be changed from an in-person event to a series of webinars. Allie organized many events over the course of the year, including the recent Geological History of Massachusetts webinar and the Virtual Forest Therapy event, and her creative contributions will soon be visible on our new kiosks going up at our trailheads next month. Please join us in thanking them for their service with HLT!

Our last staff meeting with Allie (top right) and Tessa (bottom right). Katie (top left) and Sally (bottom left) will miss the energy they brought to HLT this year!
