Backpack Explorer Family Nature Wander

July 15, 2023

Date/Time
Date(s) - Jul 15th, 2023
10:00 am - 11:30 am

Location
Bullitt Reservation

A copy of the book “Backpack Explorer: On the Nature Trail” sits on a mossy rock in a dark, leafy forest. The cover of the book is an illustration of a teal back filled with items from nature, including a blue jay feather, leaves, flowers, acorns, a caterpillar, and a magnifying glass. Join HLT and the Belding Memorial Library for a morning of nature exploration inspired by Backpack Explorer: On the Nature Trail, a take-along field guide for children ages 5 to 10. We’ll practice nature observation skills and discover ways to connect with the natural world through fun hands-on activities.

At the end of the wander, we will give away copies of On the Nature Trail to a few lucky participants! Register for the event to be automatically entered into the raffle.

Recommended ages 5-10. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The rain date for this event is Saturday, July 22nd at 10 am.

About the Leaders

HLT TerraCorps member Sarah Welch and Belding Memorial Library librarian Irene Branson will lead this nature wander! They are both naturalists and educators who love to walk and wonder in the forest, especially with young friends.

A copy of the Backpack Explorers book, open to a spread filled with photos and illustrations of mushrooms. The book is laid against a mushroom-covered log in a grassy field.Accessibility Information
