Create a Lasting Legacy Workshop: How to Support the Causes You Love

October 22, 2024

Date/Time
Date(s) - Oct 22nd, 2024
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

We invite you to join us during National Estate Planning Awareness Week for a FREE Zoom workshop with Attorney Valerie Vignaux. Hilltown Land Trust is teaming up with other local nonprofits to offer this opportunity to learn how you can have a lasting impact on our community and future generations through legacy giving on Tuesday, October 22, 4:00-5:00 pm.

Making a legacy gift is one way you can have a lasting impact on our community and future generations. Whether you are just beginning to think about making a will, or already have a plan in place, this free online workshop is for you. Learn the basics of how to include your favorite nonprofits as beneficiaries in your will, retirement plan or insurance policy. Understand the tax benefits and implications, and how to make the right choices for your family. Topics to be discussed include:

  • What is estate planning and is it only for the wealthy?
  • Wills and Trusts: what are they, how do they work, how are they different?
  • What is legacy giving and is it only for the wealthy?
  • What are some methods by which I can participate in legacy giving? (in a will, in a trust, by beneficiary designation)
