Bumblebee on a purple flower Fourteen native bee species are in decline in the northeast, but why is this happening and what can we do to keep these important pollinators around?

Tune in as Wyatt Shell gives an introduction to identifying native bees, outlines the factors leading to bee population declines, and teaches us what we can do in our own neighborhoods to make a difference and support pollinator health.

Wyatt Shell is a PhD Candidate and National Science Foundation Research Fellow in the Department of Integrative and Organismal Biological Sciences at the University of New Hampshire. His doctoral research focuses on the evolution of social behavior in carpenter bees.
