What Does Long-Term Forest Stewardship Look Like? Meet a Forester Woods Walk

November 11, 2024

Date/Time
Date(s) - Nov 11th, 2024
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

"What Does Long-Term Forest Stewardship Look Like?" event square, with the text "Meet a Forester Woods Walk Session 2, 71 Hemenway Road Williamsburg, MA Tues. Oct 29th, 2 pm." Below are the logos for Hilltown Land Trust, the town of Williamsburg, and Bay State Forestry, followed up the text "Resilient Upper Mill Watershed."“Forest resilience” is a big buzzword right now, especially in the face of climate change. But what does a resilient forest – or farm or field – really look like?

Licensed Forester Lincoln Fish of Bay State Forestry has spent decades tending the land at the Ouimets’ farm in Williamsburg, and will give a tour of the land alongside Bethany Ouimet and Hilltown Land Trust staff. Curious about what a forest management plan can do for your land? Want to learn more about forest health? Eager to look at forests with a new perspective? This free walk is for you!

This series is part of the Resilient Upper Mill River Watershed Project in Williamsburg funded through the Commonwealth’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program.

COST: Free to the public
AGES: Adult
DOGS: Please leave dogs and furry friends at home!
RSVP: Optional
